Peaceful Study teaches children, so we collect as little as we can, keep it private and use it only to teach your child well. This policy explains what we hold, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 28 September 2026 · Read with our data policy, which sets out how long we keep information and how we protect it.
Who we are
Peaceful Study provides online Maths and Science tuition for middle-school children from Indian families living in the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and India. We decide how your information is used, so under data protection law we are the "controller" (in India, the "data fiduciary").
For anything about privacy, message us on WhatsApp on +91 70786 55261 and start your message with "Privacy". The same contact handles requests and complaints in every country.
What we collect
When you visit this website
No cookies, no tracking, no analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking tools on this site.
Technical logs. Our website host, Netlify, briefly records your IP address, browser type and the pages requested so the site can be delivered and protected from attacks.
Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
When you book a free class
The booking form does not send anything to us or store anything on our website. It opens WhatsApp on your device with a message filled in: your name, your child's first name, country, year group, syllabus and subject. Nothing is shared until you choose to press send.
When your child has lessons with us
About you: your name, WhatsApp number, email address if you give it, country and time zone.
About your child: first name, year group, school syllabus and the subjects they study with us. We do not need their surname, school, date of birth, address or photos.
Learning records: assessment results, the improvement plan, quiz scores, homework, class notes and the messages in your family's WhatsApp group.
Anything you choose to tell us that helps us teach, such as a learning difference. We only record what the teacher needs.
Payment records: invoices and what has been paid. If you pay by card through a payment provider, we never see or store the card number.
We do not record lessons unless we have asked you first and you have agreed.
Why we use it
What we do
Why we are allowed to
Reply to your enquiry and arrange a free class
You asked us to (steps before a contract, or your consent)
Teach your child, keep their plan and progress, and send you updates
To provide the tuition you signed up for (our contract with you), with your consent as a parent for your child's information
Invoices and accounts
Tax and accounting laws require it
Keep the website running and secure
Our legitimate interest in a safe, working website
We never sell personal information, never use it for advertising and never use your child's work to train AI systems.
Children's information
We deal with parents and guardians. A parent books the class and agrees to how we use their child's information before lessons begin.
We treat children's information as sensitive and give it extra protection, whatever country the family lives in.
We do not profile children, track their behaviour online or show them advertising.
You can see, correct or ask us to delete your child's information at any time. Older children can also ask us directly, and we will involve you.
Who we share it with
Only the people and services we need to run lessons:
Your child's teacher, who sees only the families they teach.
WhatsApp (Meta), which carries our messages and family groups. Messages are end-to-end encrypted.
Our online classroom and storage providers, such as the video-call service used for lessons and the service where we keep plans and notes.
Netlify, which hosts this website, and Google Fonts.
Our accountant or payment provider, for fees only.
Authorities, only if the law requires it or a child's safety is at risk.
Each provider may use the information only to provide its service to us.
Countries your information goes to
We teach families in several countries, and our teacher and some providers are outside your country. Your information may therefore be handled in India, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the UAE, the European Union or the United States. When it leaves your country we use providers with recognised safeguards, such as contract terms approved for international transfers, and we apply the same protection wherever it is. Transfers only happen where your country's law allows them.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
tell you what we hold about you or your child and give you a copy;
correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
delete information we no longer need, or stop using it;
withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect what we did before);
stop any messages that are not about your child's lessons.
We do not charge for requests and we aim to reply within one month, sooner where the law requires. We may ask you to confirm who you are before sharing a child's information.
Country by country
These laws apply depending on where you live. Where they differ, we follow the stricter standard for everyone.
United Kingdom
UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Data (Use and Access) Act 2025
You have all the rights above, plus the right to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Singapore
Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and the PDPC's advisory guidelines on children's personal data
You can ask to access and correct personal data, and withdraw consent.
We treat children's data as sensitive and ask parents for consent. The PDPC's guidelines let a child of 13 or over consent if they understand what it means.
We do not send marketing messages to Singapore numbers without consent, in line with the Do Not Call rules.
Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and DPDP Rules 2025
Everyone under 18 is a child. We process a child's data only with verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.
We do not track or monitor children's behaviour, or target advertising at them.
You can access, correct and erase your data, withdraw consent and nominate someone to act for you.
We resolve grievances within 90 days. After using our process, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India.
United Arab Emirates

You can access, correct, erase and restrict your data, and move it to another provider.
We apply extra care to children's information and online safety.
You can raise concerns with the UAE Data Office.
Families in the DIFC or ADGM are covered by those centres' own data protection laws, and we respect them in the same way.
Contact and complaints
Message us on WhatsApp on +91 70786 55261, starting with "Privacy", for any request, question or complaint. We confirm we have received it, keep you updated and tell you the outcome. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the regulator for your country, listed above.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For important changes affecting current families, we will tell you on WhatsApp first.
